James T. Kiernan – Managing Director, Strategic Investment Committee
Mr. Kiernan is a Co-Founder and principal of Warren Wealth Advisors, LLC a wealth management firm located in Greenwich, CT. He is also President and Managing Director of Cornerstone Capital Partners L.P. and Stuart Investment Management Limited in Toronto, Canada. He was formerly with Goldman Sachs from 1976 – 2002, Vice-President, London, England in 1982, President of Goldman Sachs Canada in 1988 and Managing Director in 1997. He was a past Director of the Montreal Exchange, the Canada-U.S. Fulbright Committee, and the Cornerstone Absolute Return Fund. Mr. Kiernan holds a B.A. from Brown University and MBA from Harvard University.
Charles R. Provini – Managing Director, Strategic Investment Committee
Mr. Provini is currently Chairman of the Board of State Capital, LLC, an investment banking and wealth management firm with offices in New York, Miami, Brazil, Argentina and Chile. He is also President of C.R. Provini& Co., Inc. an asset management company founded in 1991. Previously, he was the President of Ladenburg Thalmann Asset Management and a Director of Ladenburg Thalmann, Inc., one of the oldest members of the New York Stock Exchange. He has served as President of Laidlaw Asset Management as well as Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of Howe & Rusling, Laidlaw’s Portfolio Management Advisory Group. Prior to this, he served as President of Rodman & Renshaw’s Advisory Services and President of LaSalle Street Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. Mr. Provini holds an Engineering degree from The U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland and a Masters from the University of Oklahoma.
Ernest E. Craumer – Managing Director, Strategic Investment Committee
Mr. Craumer is a Co-Founder and Managing Director of Warren Wealth Advisors, LLC- a wealth advisory firm with offices located in Greenwich, CT and Toronto, Canada. He is currently the CEO of Concorde Funding Group, Ltd., a leading metropolitan region mortgage broker specializing in residential and commercial financing. His responsibilities include the recruiting, supervision, and management of all facets of Concorde’s origination, processing, underwriting, and closing departments as well as the cross selling of various private wealth advisory services between Concorde and Warren clients. He interfaces daily with over 50 lenders including multiple private, community, and money center banks and has consulted, designed, and integrated strategic lending and wealth management services with several regional de novo banks. Mr. Craumer was a former Founder and Managing Director of New York City based Circle Consulting Group, a financial, tax planning, and real estate investment banking firm specializing in high net worth individuals and closely held businesses. His clients included top executives of Citibank, Lehman Brothers, Goldman Sachs, Interpublic, and Omnicom Group. Mr. Craumer served as President and Securities Principal of Circle Properties Ltd., a registered broker dealer offering real estate, oil & gas, and equipment leasing investments to the high net worth clients of Circle’s financial planning and pension divisions. He has syndicated, financed and developed over $13 billion of commercial and residential real estate throughout the United States. Projects included garden apartments, commercial office, shopping centers, hotels, congregate care facilities, and single family subdivisions. Mr. Craumer holds a B.A. from Colgate University.
William W. Raffaele – Managing Director, Strategic Investment Committee
Mr. Raffaele has more than 15 years of experience with diversified financial services institutions and possesses a proven record of productivity, quality and integrity. He is a Co-Founder and Managing Director of Warren Wealth Advisors, LLC - a wealth advisory firm with offices located in Greenwich, CT and Toronto, Canada. As Securities Principal he created and supervises the firm’s policies and procedures, risk management and oversees the operations process to assure accuracy, consistency, efficiency and the adherence to the compliance of industry regulations and principles. He is responsible for the overall business development of the firm’s high net worth (HNW) and ultra high net worth (UHNW) advisory services, including the integration of its comprehensive, technology-enabled wealth management platform. Prior to Warren Wealth Advisors, Mr. Raffaele was Senior Financing Officer of Concorde Funding Group, Ltd., a leading metropolitan region mortgage broker specializing in commercial and residential financing and was personally involved with private real estate syndication. Formerly a Financial Consultant with Morgan Stanley beginning in 1994 and Merrill Lynch in 1998, he cut his teeth in the business and cultivated a significant HNW client base that enabled him to foresee a major shift in the industry towards private wealth management business. He developed an understanding of how to deliver innovative investment management services to meet the needs and ambitions of a sophisticated clientele. Mr. Raffaele has leveraged his holistic approach to wealth advisory by acting as a consultant to regional de novo banks on creating value within lending operations and wealth management practices.
David L. Horner – Economist, Strategic Investment Committee
Mr. Horner is the Economist for our entire North American operation. He was formerly First Vice President and Senior Economist, Merrill Lynch 1984 – 2002 as a member of the Financial Economics Group (1996-2002) and as a member of the Financial Futures Group (1984-1995). During his tenure at Merrill Lynch he appeared frequently as guest host and analyst on CNBC, CNN, CBC, CTV, Bloomberg, TV Tokyo and other business programs. Mr. Horner has been Financial Market Strategist 2002 – present: from 1980-1984, he was Director of research, Economics Division, Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Mr. Horner was previously the Economic advisor to the U.S.D.A. Food and Nutrition Service. He conducted economic policy research on employment and welfare reform as a staff member of Mathematica, Inc., a Princeton-based think tank. He was formerly an assistant Professor of Economics, Wayne State University and he consulted to the Canadian province of Manitoba on implementing work- and tax-related incentives as a means to achieve welfare reform. Mr. Horner holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin with concentrations in market and monetary theory, supply-side economics, and econometrics and a B.Math from the University of Akron.
Michael Hyman, FSI – Strategic Investment Committee
Mr. Hyman is the current Investment Strategist of Cornerstone Asset Management L.P. in Toronto, Canada. He was formerly the founder of GH Asset Management and has managed global fixed income portfolios for 15 years, earning the number one PIPER fixed income global ranking for a 5-year period. Prior to GH Asset Management he was the founder of the Maxim Portfolio Systems software company. Michael holds professional memberships at: Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP), GARP Toronto, Ontario Board Member, The CFA Institute (CFA), International Society of Financial Analysts (ISFA), The International Association of Financial Engineers (IAFE), Fellow of Securities & Investment Institute (FSI) and The Professional Risk Managers International Association (PRMIA). He has authored and published two books, The Power of Global Capital (Thomson, 2004) and New Ways for Managing Global Financial Risks - The Next Generation(John Wiley, 2005). Mr. Hyman holds a BBA in International Finance from the University of Miami and a Diploma in Economics from the London School of Economics.
Patrick V. Farrell - Strategic Investment Committee
Mr. Farrell is currently COO of Stuart Investment Management Limited and Cornerstone Capital Partners L.P. in Toronto, Canada. He is a Professional Engineer by training with special emphasis on Investment Banking, Capital Markets and International Business. For the past thirty years he has been involved in corporate finance and the capital markets, with past experience at major Canadian and international brokerage firms. Patrick has also performed consulting assignments for major international corporations and supra-national organizations such as the International Finance Corporation, and other quasi-governmental bodies. He founded a registered Investment Dealer and was a Member/Seat holder on both the Montreal and the Alberta Stock Exchanges for five years, as well as sitting on the board of a number of public and private corporations. Mr. Farrell holds a B.Sc. (Eng.) and a Masters in Aeronautical Engineering [M.Sc. (Eng.)] from the University of Natal, South Africa and an MBA from Harvard University.
